3 Things You Need to Do More of on LinkedIn
As a career coach, I spend a lot of time giving people feedback on how they’re showing up on LinkedIn. I’ve shared this advice with clients several times in the past week so figured I’d do a quick post on it.
Three things you should be doing if you’re active on LinkedIn (even if you’re not currently looking for a new job):
1. Make sure your profile looks fantastic. Check out this post for details on how to do this.
2. Comment on the posts of people whose radar you’d like to be on. ‘Liking’ a post is fine but commenting on a post is more significant and will typically always be read by the author. Commenting on posts is a great way to become more visible to people you want to network with or may want to network with in the future.
3. Occasionally, click on the link for a job posted on LinkedIn that’s in the wheelhouse of something you’d be interested in potentially doing in the future. Even if you aren’t currently looking for a new role, LinkedIn will learn what you’re interested in and occasionally send you similar roles.
